From Queenston Heights to Niagara on the lake you will be traveling down the
Niagara escarpment and entering the fruit belt of Ontario.

On this part of the trail you will find large one hundred year old Maple,
chestnut, fir, Willow and Oak trees lining the streets and pathways.

Lower Recreation Trail Niagara Falls

The Lower Niagara River Recreation Trail is a paved path which
runs approx. 30 kilometers; from the brink of Niagara Falls,
North, to Queenston, and onto Niagara-On-The-Lake.

Perfect for bicycling, or walking, with plenty of picnic areas,
fruit stands and wineries along the way.

At Queenston heights park you will find a fantastic view of Lake Ontario
and the Niagara river. Travel down the escarpment at Queenston and you will
be entering Niagara`s wine country.

Stop in at the many wineries along the route for vineyard
tours, specialty restaurants, and wine tasting tours.

Visit the many heritage sites along the way.

The Lower Niagara River Recreation Trail ends at Old Fort Niagara in Niagara on the Lake.
Fort Niagara is a restored heritage site from the War of 1812.
