23rd Annual Siege at Old Fort Erie
Old Fort Erie, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada
Old Fort Erie is an actual Fort from the war of 1812 which has been
restored and is maintained by, the Niagara parks commission. Old Fort Erie
is located in the city of Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, at the entrance to the mouth of the
Niagara River at Lake Erie.
The Upper Niagara River recreation trail starts at Old Fort Erie and winds it's way to Chippawa then
onto the Falls at Niagara Falls.
There have been ghost sightings at the old fort, as many young men
died here during the war of 1812.
Old Fort Erie offers a special Halloween tour of the old fort as well as
Friday Night Frights during the summer months. You'll here some great true
stories. A great tour as your guides are dressed in 1812 era costumes,
replicas of the original uniforms worn.
See the original canons, outposts, gun turrets, sleeping quarters, sharp shooter positions,
the kitchen, and general's quarters.used as was, in the 1812 war.
Well preserved artifacts from the 1800s in the Museum included in the tour.
