Niagara Falla Whirlpool Aerocar Ride
Located north 4.5 km.(3 miles) down-river from the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.
The Whirlpool Aerocar Ride has been providing spectacular views of the
Whirlpool Rapids and the Niagara Gorge since 1916.
Suspended by six cables, stretching more than half a kilometer across, the
Aerocar is truly a remarkable feat of ingenuity. The cable car's capacity
is 35 standing adults. Take along your camera for some great pictures.
The Aerocar closes in late November for the Winter season and re-opens in mid March.
The Aerocar is suspended above the Niagara Whirlpool Rapids. Here, the Niagara
River makes a 90 degree bend, which combined with the rapid water flow, causes
a whirlpool effect hence the name Niagara Whirlpool Rapids.
Another popular name for this stretch of the Niagara river is the Devil's Hole,
a popular place for hiking and fishing.
